Peter Yang open-sourced his editing checklist as a Claude skill.
Peter Yang got tired of reading AI-flavored writing, so he packaged his editing rules into a free MIT-licensed skill that detects and removes more than 20 patterns: the binary contrasts, the throat-clearing openers, the dramatic colons. It works as an editor or a detector.
We ran it on our own Claude certification guide, which had already been through our in-house editing pass. It still caught two dead lead-in phrases. Both fixes are live in that post now.

From Anthropic's developer team: models see images as downscaled patches, so fine detail in dense charts gets lost. Their updated cookbook gives Claude a zoom tool that lets it request a full-resolution crop of any region.
The reported effect on their 100-question chart benchmark: Fable 5 jumps from 29 to 73 percent, Sonnet 5 from 13 to 44. Same models, one extra tool.

Andrew Ng's open-source agent ends its runs with finished work.
Andrew Ng announced OpenWorker, an open-source agent that finishes tasks with an artifact in hand: a drafted document, a sent Slack message, an updated calendar entry. Ask it to prepare a customer brief or triage your inbox and you get the brief, or the triaged inbox.
The code is open source and free to run.

What six unrelated demos add up to.
Claude is turning into a platform. The week's most interesting Claude items were built around the model rather than into it: a video editor in the desktop app, an editing checklist shipped as an installable skill, and Anthropic's biggest number coming from an added tool.
Agents are being judged on finished work now. OpenWorker's entire pitch is the deliverable, and the Turbopack story is a model handing over a real optimization in a production toolchain.
And the playful demos keep coming from open weights. Nobody asked for ascii ripples from a 2.8 trillion parameter model. People tinker most with what they are free to pull apart.
